Who is Calico •
A joy for the dance floor, Calico (Jacob Zimmer) has been DJing clubs, concerts, parties, and festivals throughout Seattle and the West Coast since 2013. Playfully blending elements of high energy club music from Jersey Club & Miami Bass to Ballroom & Baile Funk with iconic Pop and Dance records, Calico brings a cheeky, fun, and eclectic flavor to the decks and the dance floor with his own PNW Club style.
Calico has created several spaces in Seattle where DJs and audiences alike can meet on the dance floor to share their love of everything from Club music to Pop music, including his parties Bad Idea and Dirty Pop. He also serves as the resident Music Director and DJ for CO-, an open-ended, collaborative entity that produces dance performances + parties in vibrant environments.
As a producer, his tracks such as "Can I Get Paid? (featuring KHRIS P & Taylar Elizza Beth)" and "Club Party Function (Mimi Zima Remix)" have created a unique blend of Seattle-Tacoma hip-hop with global club sounds that have translated to dance floors far beyond his home in the PNW.
Calico has shared the stage with severable notable artists such as: A$AP Cozy Boys, Austin Millz, Ballads, Chong the Nomad, Chromeo, Dirt Nasty, DJDS, Dpat, Ekali, Four Color Zack, Full Crate, Hucci, Keys n Krates, Mickey Avalon, MikeQ, Nadus, Nina Las Vegas, Promnite, salute, Seiho, Tinashe, YehMe2, and Zaytoven.
